Argentina has become a new destination of choice for gay tourists looking for the all-inclusive gay holiday of culture, entertainment, history and spectacular scenery. It became the first country in Latin America to allow same-sex marriage in July 2010, including full adoption rights for gay and lesbian couples.

The country has changed significantly over the past 15 years, its uber-macho culture has been opened up and gay people are visible throughout the major cities. For nightlife, Beep! in Cordoba offers a vibrant atmosphere, the locals are welcoming and become engrossed in the rather unique drag shows. The most popular gay club in Buenos Aires is Human Club, a three-roomed warehouse with a large outdoor terrace.

November is the time for the big gay pride in the capital with the parade strutting its stuff from Plaza de Mayo and proceeding to Plaza Congresso, Buenos Aires. While Argentina doesn’t quite have the carnival atmosphere of Brazil it does try with the annual El Carnival Del Pais in February, a vibrant and mixed event. Bariloche Gay Ski Week in September is becoming a popular event lying on the banks of Lake Nahuel Huapi, surrounded by mountains and forests and a packed program of events.

Together with its mix of climates from the glacial south, to the expansive natural rainforest, lively Latin culture and superb food Argentina has a lot to offer.
